The 2019 estimated population of Fayetteville was 209,889, making it the sixth-largest city in North Carolina. It is located in the Sandhills region of North Carolina, just outside the Coastal Plain. Fayetteville is home to Fort Bragg, one of the largest military installations in the world, and Pope Army Airfield.
